Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is a time set aside for you to explore struggles at home, at school, with your family or with friends. You may have a new situation that is causing stress, or you may have a more serious on-going issue that deserves a professional response. You also may just want time to work on making yourself a better version of you.

Individual therapy provides a supportive, directive, solution-focused and evidence-based approach in dealing with a variety of domains. Individual therapy at Cohn Counseling offers an eclectic approach and utilizes techniques consistent with Mindfulness Based, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and DBT skills. In each unique method, developing positive and long-lasting coping strategies is the ultimate goal.

At times, during individual therapy it might be necessary to include family therapy throughout your treatment. This is something you can discuss with your therapist and continue to assess throughout your individual therapy sessions.
