Emily Greenberg, LCPC
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. I earned my Master’s Degree in Counseling and a Post-Master’s Certificate in Play Therapy from Johns Hopkins University. I have over 10 years of experience as a School Counselor in Montgomery County Public Schools. It is through my work in schools, that I am attuned to the stressors and pressures of today’s preteens and adolescents.
My passion lies in supporting young adults through the rollercoaster that is adolescence. As the body, mind, and expectations grow during this period of life, it is essential that a child feels that they are heard and have a safe and supportive place to unload all that they carry day in and day out. My practice includes working with children, adolescents, teens, and young adults, in partnership with their families, who experience stressors in life such as strained family relationships, grief/divorce, life changes, social pressures, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, poor body image, anger, and trauma. I work with each client and his or her family to develop reasonable and appropriate goals in a supportive and comforting environment. My work is centered around developing a meaningful therapeutic relationship, teaching positive coping and communication skills, and collaborating with all stakeholders in the adolescent’s life. These tenets are intended to provide the client with sustainable growth.
I grew up in the DC Metropolitan area. I live with my husband, and two young children in Bethesda. I love traveling, being active, and spending time with my family and friends.
I look forward to building a positive connection with you.
